The European Academy of Religion (EuARe) is a research initiative launched under the high patronage of the European Parliament which offers an exchange platform to scholars, universities, centres, research infrastructures, scientific journals and publishers coming from Europe and the surrounding regions.

 

Since its launching event in 2016, EuARe has organised five Annual conferences, and it is presently preparing its Seventh Annual Conference, which will take place in Palermo, May 20th-23rd, 2024.

 

Organising a conference like ours, which can count on wide participation and a high number of proposed panels and activities, can be a great challenge but also an important opportunity to serve the whole scientific community and give visibility to a specific scholarly environment, be it local, national or international in its breadth.

 

During past editions, EuARe staff and the conference hosting institutions understood the importance and need to diversify locations: each host brings into the life of the association and the conference discussions specific local, national, disciplinary, thematic, and cultural perspectives, which are of great value for the whole scientific community. Each and every one of us also learned precious lessons, and we hope that the outcome of this process is visible in the continuous improvement of our support to the community.

 

We want to make our experience more fruitful and impactful for you all, and we look forward to receiving proposals from Institutions, Associations, and other Entities willing to organise our future conferences.

 

The application must include:

1.    Name of the proposing Institution and names and professional profiles of the persons involved in the organization of the conference

2.    Proposed overarching topic of the conference

3.    Proposed dates, considering local and European academic calendars

4.    A description of the proposed venue: history, facilities, number and typologies of rooms available and their equipment, accommodations available

 

Applications must be sent in a text file with a .pdf format, not exceeding 15 pages (including images).
